Accreditation

NASA Surgery Center, LLC is proud to be fully accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Services and The Center of Medicare. Our last survey was held in May 14th 2014.  The Center was granted a full 3 year certification based on a detailed review of performance. The dedication and effort necessary for an organization to be accredited is substantial and our organization is proud of this accomplishment. Our State of Georgia permit number is 060-443.

The Center opened its doors in 2011 as one of the first single specialty General Surgery Centers in the State of Georgia. 

Our Staff is committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients.  The Center is open from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily for questions or call us at (404) 844-4345.

We are dedicated to providing you the excellent care you deserve during your stay.  The NASA Surgery Center team prides themselves on listening to the needs of our patients. At NASA, we realize patients have choices and are never treated like another number.  By integrating the services of our professional staff, NASA Surgery Center, LLC is well equipped to provide you with excellence in surgery and care.

Prior to your surgery you will be telephoned by one of our nurses, as well as a nurse from the anesthesia department. This call will entail questions regarding your health history, surgery and arrival times, explanation of pre-operative guidelines, and answer any questions you may have.

It is important for you to follow these guidelines before surgery to prevent delay or cancellations.

Food and Drink

The night prior to your surgery, no eating or drinking after midnight including the morning of your surgery unless otherwise directed.

Jewelry (including body jewelry)

Do not wear any jewelry including watches or body piercings on the day of surgery.

Clothing

Wear casual, comfortable clothing that will fit over dressings as needed.

Valuables

Leave valuables at home.

Notify the Center & Your Surgeon If:

  • You have an elevated temperature, cough, cold, or vomiting between your last visit to the surgeon and the day of your surgery.
  • You suspect you may be pregnant.

What You Need the Day of Surgery:

  • Information to Bring: Insurance cards, photo ID, Medicare or Medical Assistance information, phone numbers and addresses.
  • Driver: You must plan to have someone drive you home if you are receiving anesthesia. ** This directive does not apply to local only cases.
  • Escort: It is encouraged that a friend, relative or dedicated caregiver stays with you for the first 24 hours after your surgery.
  • Interpreter: If the patient requires an interpreter, please contact the Scheduling department at 404-844-4345 as soon as possible.

We recognize that you may have questions or concerns about our insurance and billing procedures. One of our team members will verify with your insurance company available benefits prior to your procedure. It is our goal to inform you fully of any payment responsibilities you will have before your admission.
